SCHADE Lagertechnik is further increasing its presence on the Chinese market: In October 2012 the Herne-based company which belongs to the AUMUND Group received the contract from Jiangyin City DADI Machine Make Co. Ltd. (DADI for short) for the supply of six semi-portal scrapers for iron ore to the state-owned BaoTou Steel Union in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. The company is a sister unit of the Baotou Iron & Steel Group, the largest industrial company in Inner Mongolia.
The scope of supply for SCHADE Lagertechnik encompasses six semi-portal scrapers (track gauge: 31.5m) featuring a reclaim rate of 1650t/h each. The complete erection and commissioning of the units will be under the direction of Schade Lagertechnik. Start of erection is scheduled for August 2013, commissioning is planned for December 2013.

The Chinese steel company is currently striving to significantly increase its capacities. According to its own information Baosteel will start construction of a long-planned steelworks in the south Chinese port city of Zhanjiang. Around 9 billion Euro is being invested in the construction of the works which will have an annual production capacity of 10 million tonnes of steel. In total the concern could than produce 53 million tonnes of steel annually and would become the second largest producer in China as far as capacity is concerned.
